|Examine||Can be combined with tin ore to make a Bronze bar. Used in Smithing (1).|
Copper ore is an ore which can be smelted in a furnace along with a piece of tin ore to create a bronze bar. Copper ore, along with tin ore, are the first ores a player can mine using the Mining skill, and requires level 1 Mining.
Copper along with Tin is mainly used for smithing beginners. Many prefer completing the The Knights Sword quest, an easy quest that grants 12,725 Smithing experience, enough experience to increase a player's smithing level from 1 to 29, 1 level away from steel bars. Beginners mistake copper ore as the unrefined form of a "copper bar", this is not true, as copper ore can only become a bronze bar with a smithing level of 1 and a tin ore.
A player can smelt copper ore into a bronze bar through the Smithing skill by using it on a furnace along with a tin ore, granting 6.2 Smithing experience; this requires level 1 Smithing. Bronze bars can then be used on Anvils with a Hammer to create Bronze items (Some things may need more than 1 bar, such as a Battleaxe). Copper drops in the Al Kharid activity centre are common.
