The Fremennik round shield is a piece of members-only armour. It requires level 25 Defence to wield. The Fremennik round shield can be obtained by making it with level 54 Woodcutting, or from trading with another player.

To make a Fremennik round shield the player must first have started The Fremennik Isles quest (at least up to Traditional Fremennik Rites). The player needs two arctic pine logs, a bronze nail, and a rope. With a hammer in his/her inventory or tool-belt (golden hammer does work), the player should left-click on the tree stump that is north of the bridge in Neitiznot, selecting the "Cut-Wood" option, then select Make Fremennik round shield. Creating the shield will grant the player 34 Crafting experience.

The Fremennik round shield provides extra defence against the ranged stone attacks by female ice trolls, reducing the damage to 100-200. Interestingly it also reduces the damage from the thrower trolls on Trollheim and Death Plateau and from Arrg during Troll Romance, possible because of its design against range-based troll attacks.

Trivia[]

  • The animation for crafting the shield clearly shows the player splitting the logs with an axe, even though an axe is not required and might not even be in the player's inventory or in their toolbelt.
