Leather (also known as soft leather to distinguish it from hard leather) is used in the Crafting skill to make leather armour and other leather items. It can be created for 1 coin (free if in Taverley) by giving a cowhide to a tanner. Tanners can be found in Al Kharid, the Ranging Guild, Varrock, Taverley, Canifis, Prifddinas and the Crafting Guild. It can also be bought on the Grand Exchange. Buying cowhides and tanning them into leather gives a profit of 68 coins per cowhide.
